Cruise ships invest in Puerto Plata

It has started – Carnival Corporation & plc, the international cruise company, will invest $65 million on the North Coast of Dominican Republic, in Maimon Bay, West of Puerto Plata, and build a cruise port that will give a major boost and development to the region. In the next few years, more & more companies are whiling to invest in Puerto Plata region, seeing the future potential and business possibilities, and Cabarete as a place to be.

Gran Cabanna is proud to be part of it – a major resort to come and bring to the area, development, tourism, luxury & style.

The Canadian Ambassador @ Gran Cabanna

Gordon Gannon, GCC President, had the honor to greet Mr. Todd Kuiack, Ambassador of Canada, Friday at 5.00 pm, to the official start of a worldwide promotion and the future opening of the Gran Cabanna Resort in 2012. Meanwhile Mr. Todd Kuiack has enjoyed a complete tour of the project, spectacular pools and has been pleased by the quality of the model apartment that has been presented to him.

G. Gannon hosted a reception to welcome and thank the Ambassador and his assistants, to a little snack before telling him good-bye and hoping to see him again, but this time, for the big opening.

The Ambassador of Canada comments :

“ … Canadian tourists will surely enjoy their stay in a beautiful place like Gran Cabanna… “

Masters Surf Reunion 2011

The annual event that takes place in Playa Encuentro, Cabarete, offered a fantastic weekend, the spirit of surfing that Cabarete provides all year long.

A competition for adults ( 35 & over ) where everyone come together, wives & kids, future generation.

Gran Cabanna that share the same ideal, has officially started a worldwide promotion, inviting all competitors and family to a little snack with open bar and “petit four” at Ocean Point 1.

Jazz Festival, Cabarete 2011

A classic in Cabarete’s events that everyone is waiting for  and, again, this year, the 15^th Jazz Festival  brought magic moments … unforgettable evenings on the beach.

Amazing artists, playing live, and many talented Dominican musicians but also artists from New-York, Cuba, Chile or Puerto Rico, shared their Latin rhythm that made - all of us - shaking the rest of the night.

Gran Cabanna is a big supporter of all these different cultural events and hope to be a part of it from 2012. We can imaginea Jazz band playing around on of GCC´s amazing pools next year! Can you see it? Or maybe from the roof top of our beach club….
